Not everyone fancy taking the family into the wilderness... and not every wives and children likes the rough outdoor. Ahhh well...

After so long, Gugujah has not really been successful in organizing a family trip. So, I (and Wady) decided that we will go ahead even if it was just the two of us... So it was... this outing was of our extended family... two rigs, 5 adults and 8 kids.

We left our Bukit Rimau home rather late that Saturday.... around 5:15pm. The route would take us through part of KL... thus the traffic contributed to more delays. We hit crawling traffic along the MMR2 near Batu Caves. Didn't know what caused the traffic snag as we took a slight detour through Selayang's Pasar Borong, making our way to Empangan Batu. The entrance to this outing venue is not far from the dam... so, it was in no time we reached the place. By 7:30pm, we were already hitting the offroad... much to the scare of every family members! The dark and the jungle spooked everyone... :)

The kids couldn't wait to take a swim in the icy cold river. Thus, once base camp is set, they hit the river... litted by one red candle! The earlier anguish and fear all seemed to have been washed by the cool water.... Some of 'em were really tired as by 11:00pm, they all started to hit the sack. Everyone else called it a nite well before midnite...

The next morning.... it was not easy to wake everyone... the cold breeze plus the quiet surroundings was a perfect combination to snug in the sleeping bag! However, the kids couldn't resist the lure of the serene river!

The camp-ground was spacious! One of the more comfortable places that we've been to...

It was a rather short and sweet outing... just after noon, we break camp and headed out... One slight delay though... one of the wiring in my elsie shorted... causing a battery drain... resulting in having to push start the car! It wasn't such a difficult effort though.... Then some pics along our way out....
