Sungai Pertak Round Two

Doing a "all night long" thingy

18 - 20 July 2008

Day 1, Friday 18 July 2008

It was a last  minute decision, sort of, to re-visit Sg Pertak.  I sms'd everyone ~ all of Gugujah's members plus our two friends, Rizal Landrover and Rizal Rocky.   At the end of it all, six cars made it on this trip.  The oldtimers (Romeo, Whiskey, Bravo as well as Wady) plus two new intakes (Udin & Aziz).

The plan was to RV in KKB around 7:00pm.... but there was a slight delay as Udin's Jimny needed some last minute tinkering with.  And the group met up around 8:30pm in KKB... proceeded towards Pertak and ventured into the night excursion.....

From about 9:00pm onwards, it was to be a gruelling experience for everyone.  All was well, until we reached the mudhole...  yes THE mudhole..... There were broken winch cable.... broken steering alignment-rod....

Anyway... back to the trip's log.... the convoy arrived camp site known as 'Sakar Tiga' at midnite... thats more than five hours off road drive (plus a few pit stops of less than ten mins) !!!  And with setting up of tents etc... most only hit the sack @ 3:00am...

Day 2, Saturday 19 July 2008

0630hrs... we scrambled to the campsite.  Subuh dah nak habis oiiii...  After prayers.... everyone 'pengsan'...

No time to put up a proper tentage....  But since we didn't have a proper dinner last nite, Aziz fried a superlicious nasi goreng... some ate before hitting the sack, while some others had the fried rice when they woke up after 10:00am....

After about four hours of sleep, almost everyone (including me) was up at around 11:30am.  Whiskey-Mike decided he would take his rig's broken part out to town to find a replacement or repair the rod if no spare's found. Thus once again, that thing were taken off by Aimae with a little help from Udin.   Moments later, Whiskey, Aziz & Ridzuan headed out off to KKB in hope to find a replacement part.

Soon after, brunch were quickly prepared by Wady, Slee & May... keropok was also fried !

When Whiskey-Mike returned, he brought with him a bucket of KFC !!!  hurrahhhhh....  A first for us.. hehehehe... After 'finger lickin' good', some wanted to play.... s the team headed out looking for new trails.  Of course, the ordeal we had last nite was enuff to keep everyone away from that mudhole for this trip... hehehehehe... maybe next round we come by this track...

But every trail we took came to a halt with fallen trees... And as it was already dark, the group headed back to camp....

There were not much activities that nite.  By 9:00pm, Whiskey and Romeo were already in their sleeping bags!!!  No dinner was prepared as there were plenty of food + KFC from earlier today.

Day 3, Sunday 20 July 2008

Almost everyone turned in early last nite.  I heard a commotion past midnite about a fallen tree or something... but I continued with my hibernation!!! hahahahaha.....  Anyway, past 6:30am, it seemed I was the first to woke up.  After a hefty breakfast (french toast, fried rice and sandwiches - prep by Slee, Romeo, Aziz & Wady), while some started to pack-up, some were already hitting the cool river and the soothing rapid..  By the way, Jek's spectacle were swept away in this rapid... but alhamdulillah Whiskey-Mike found it after everyone gave a franctic search in the river....

Well, that was that.  A really tiring first day.... errrr.... rather, a very long night on our first day that got everyone out of the mood to play anymore after our morning sleep.... and the day after...

It was I think, yet another enjoyable outing for the group!
