Wan-jey:  November 2008

Setelah sekian lama trying to stop the unstoppable... I finally succumbed to the pre-ordained...

The story

The story is rather complicated... but iy all began during after Gugujah's Lubuk Kawah outing on 7th Nov 2008.  Well, actually it was just before the trip.

The elsie's clutch need replacing after the previous Gunung Tapis Outing.  So, as always, at the last minute.. err not really last minute... it was Monday the week before our Lubuk Kawah excursion.  The elsie was sent (again) to Awe's workshop for the simple clutch plate replacement.  Simple?  Not!  One thing led to another... long story short, timing chain was replaced.. meaning a top-overhaul for the poor engine.  Well that was that.  Repairs done in the late hours of the day we were suposed to go to this Lubuk Kawah trip... very late indeed.. 11:00pm or so... but that was not the end of this repair story...

Anyway... not to bore everyone... enuff said that during the outing, the elsie engine became almost like its nearing its useful life... hmmm... Rizal on the trip mentioned that there's a "wanjey" up for sale.. huhuhuhuhu.. timing is everything....

So, Sunday, coming out from Lubuk Kawah,  I made an appointment with Rizal to have a look at that wanjey.  Monday, I was on mc... timing is everything.. hehehehe.... so that afternoon, off we went to Kelang (Jln Meru), saw the wanjey, and... voila... deals were made.  Got back home, Rizal took my elsie home as I have asked his favor to take the elsie to that Ah Kong workshop for the....

... Elsie's second power plant replacement!

Well let the pictures speak for themselves....

The Sequel.... 9 March 2009

Well, what can I say!  This project doesn't seem to end after the engine replacement project was completed.  For a short version of this 'sequel', suffice to say that it all started after the UluYam Dalam revisit...  Do not what was the root cause for the electrical trouble that the elsie seemed to sustain, but enough is enough!  Thus the very next day after the UluYam trip, I had the elsie workshopped again.

And since already at the shop, I asked Ah Kong to chek that bugging clanking sound coming from my front axle.  And you know what... it was beacause of the chipped differential gears!  And replacement of that would set me back by more than one grand!!!  bummerrrrrrr!!!!!

So there you have it... The elsie will be a bit different when this is done...

Firsly, from two N70 batteries set up, we've sort of decided to make room for one N120 battery...

Then, the ole 'bucket' is now history... moved the air filter into the engine compartment - this is possible thanks to the now redundant 2nd battery slot...

Last not least (can't see from outside)... the elsie is now on LSD front & back! wohooooo....
