Sungai Bot / Telemong

Family Outing?  At first it was planned that way.  But just few days before the trip, Romeo changed the plan.... since his wife had some unavoidable commitment over the weekend.  Whiskey-Mike's wife was taken ill the whole week, and the trip would probably not be good for her.  Lastly, since no one was taking their family along...  all of us decided to do the same.  But as it turned out, Alpha-Kilo did bring his family on this trip....

Well, the story is/was (for future reference) that Mat Yani (of Carabao 4X4) organised an event (for Pejabat Belia Termerloh, I think) that weekend at this location and had invited us to partake.  Well, we did partake in a way... by going to the same place... but not in the event per se...

As we arrived the event's campsite (around 2:00pm), we were greeted by the locals... :-)

They were excited (not curious though.. as this is a regular trail for offroaders) as they know the folks would be handing out titbits...  and that we did.... few bread & biscuits plus bottled water...  and the look on these kids' faces only radiate gratitude....

This campsite is located at the beginning of the Sg Bot/Telemong trail.. not one for offraoders I would think.   Normal cars could get here without any trouble IMHO... However, the river and the camping area are nice....

After a quick lunch (nasi ayam courtesy of Alpha-Kilo). and after our Zohor solat, we were ready to offroad!  Almost an hour into the trail, it was decided to call it a day as we hit the first campsite (the same one that Romeo and I camped out on our previous visit way back in 2006!)

By 4.00pm, most tents were up.... and a bit of rain had brought the group into the main tentage....  But after rain stopped, Whiskey-Mike, CheLan, Aimae & yours trully did a bit of fishing using the jala.. quite a number og big cathches we did... more than enuff for all that was on this trip...

However.. after maghrib, it rained rather heavily.... Alpha-Kilo's family turned in just it got heavier.. luckily his tents were well covered!  But Whiskey-Mike's tent as well as my own were flooded! hehehe... When rain stopped.... we salvaged the sleeping place.. and everyone I guess slept comfortably till morning...

Almost all woke up very early on Sunday... including Alpha's son... :-)    Tango-Tango prepared his gourmet nasi goreng for breakfast while I prepared scrambled egg + baked beans  :-)  Swell breakfast!

After breakfast, and the morning swim... the group packed up and were ready to head out.  Just as we were finishing taking this group picture, MatYani and Lee Belia arrived in his Pajero Shortie...

And so we decided, as suggested by matYani, to head further into the trail.. and we saw some action that morning...

Especially with Tango-tango whom seem to be a bit out of practice with his skills.. Gotta brush 'em Ajiz!!!

But it ended well...

Despite this photopportunity moment... :-)

This stretch is quite challenging... plus slopes awaits theoiffguarded on one side of the track.

However all's well that ends well...

After that.. all was "smooth sailing"... the cameraMAY 'bersantai' took pictures of the surroundings... trees and mountains and skies....

Well... that's another chapter of our casual trip.... despite the 'hardcore rain' last nite, we survived.  The morning adventure was a good training ground for Tango-Tango especially  :-) We actually continued our journey to find the waterfall campsite.... via hiking... hehehehe.. but everyone that trekked to the place forgot to bring a camera.. so no pictures.  On our next trip, perhaps.  The campsite is such a nice and serene place.... very much suited for a family getaway...

As we headed back, we stopped by the campsite where MatYani's troupe had been dwelling.. all his event's particiapnts had left.  MatYani + Lee Belia + PokDeq was still around.... After performing our prayers... we bid adieu and headed home... reached KL around 6.00pm....
